Over 60% of Gapyeong apples are grown at Bukmyeon, which was designated as a clean area by the Ministry of Environment, and concentrates on producing clean apples by implementing new cultivation technologies and reduction of chemical fertilizers through organic growing. It is known that the average sweetness of Fuji Apples is 14.5%, but according to reports on sweetness measurement analysis by the Rural Development Administration, the average sweetness for Gapyeong apples are 16.4%. This is due to the geographical features of Gapyeong.
